- Design and Display: The Samsung Note 8 has an eight inch display with a resolution of 800×1280 pixels while the iPad has a 7.9 inch display with a 768×1024 resolution. In terms of weight, the Galaxy Note 8 is 338 grams and the iPad Mini 2is about 308 grams. The dimensions of these devices are 210.8×135.9x8mm for the Note while the iPad is 200×134.7×7.2mm. These specifications put the giants more or less at par.
- Operating system and Hardware: The Note has a 1.6 GHz quad core processor (A9) coupled with an Exynos 4412 chipset. The memory available on the device is 16 GB and 32 GB and can be expanded to 64 GB. The iPad Mini 2 has a 1 GHz dual core processor with the Apple A7 chipset and retina display. However, there is no slot for a micro SD card but the devices available in the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB variants. The Note wins the OS round as it comes with the Android Jellybean OS powered with RAM of 2 GB while the iPad comes with the iOS 6 upgradable to iOS 7 but has only 512 MB of RAM.
