Samsung Galaxy S5’s Whim: With An Aluminium Body It Could Have More Muscle Than Apple iPhone 6?

Who won't like to see Samsung Galaxy S5 sporting a metal body? The whispers are that Samsung Galaxy S5 might go through a 'METAL' (as against plastic body) makeover. The reports surfacing the firm’s upcoming device suggest that this time the Galaxy line-up of devices will roll out with aluminum body. (We are elated to here that) Stepping into the shoes of Apple iPhone 6, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and Nokia Lumia series , Samsung Galaxy S5 , if we go by the rumor, would be stronger and sturdier. While it's predecessor- the Galaxy S4 , though carved out of plastic, created quite a stir in the smartphone market. Indeed Samsung has realized that metal devices are sturdier than the plastic ones. This could be seen as a major move by Samsung in its wake to join the league of high-end, tough and durable smartphones constructed with aluminum body. If deemed true, the sharp criticism that Samsung has faced for the choice of materials would come to a halt. However, to incorporate a metal body, Samsung will have to eradicate removable back cover and the memory expansion slot, which doesn't sound like a big problem, considering the durability and ability to withstand tough use that metal built will offer. The Galaxy S5 is speculated to run an 8-core CPU with a max speed of 2.0GHz, holding Google's Key Lime Pie or Android 5.0 software. Sporting a 5.2-inch screen, the device will embrace Super AMOLED display technology. Boasting 4GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage, the S5 will brag a 16-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel secondary camera. Who won’t like to see Samsung Galaxy S5 sporting a metal body?

Considering the rumors and speculations, read on for a general idea of what the devices might look like.

Anticipated to be launched in October, the LG Optimus G2 could run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie in beta form. With a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, the LG G2 might hold a 5.2-inch Full HD display with either 2 or 3GB of RAM. This smartphone might come out with internal storage options of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. What makes the device surpass other is the slimmest HD panel that it holds.

For the iPhone 6, many reports indicate that the device might roll out with exciting upgrades in 2014. However, rumors hint at the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner in the device, packed with a thin and strong glass. Since the device is expected next year, Apple might run iOS 8 by that time.

Jack Of All Trades: Nokia Lumia 1020 Sold Out At AT&T; Should Apple iPhone 6 & Samsung Galaxy S5 Be Worried ?

Reportedly; pre-orders of the Nokia’s handset are all sold-out with AT&T. Costing $299, the smartphone comes with a new two year contract with the carrier, with the delivery starting on July 23rd.

With a 4.5 inch WXGA AMOLED display, the Lumia 1020 holds a resolution of 1,280 x 768 pixels and brags a huge 41-megapxiel camera. With dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz processor, the smartphone sports 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.

Considering the success of Lumia 1020, should the big rivals in line including Apple and Samsung be worried? Apple is working on its iPhone 6 and Samsung on Galaxy S5. However, both the smartphones hold innovative features but nothing can beat Nokia’s camera. Apple’s iPhone 6 will hold a 12-megapixel camera whereas Samsung Galaxy S5 will sport a 16-megapixel, which stands nowhere against Lumia’s mega 41-megapixel.

The success indicates Nokia is far more serious to become the market leader and therefore both Samsung and Apple must incorporate high-end features in their forthcoming iPhone 6 and Galaxy S5 to knock-off Lumia 1020 in the game.

Nevertheless, Apple and Samsung must take risk and develop what no one else has offered till now and watch out for this competitive Nokia pie on the table.… Read the rest

Is the Samsung Galaxy S5 going to give its competitors a tough fight!

Samsung Galaxy S5, the upcoming model from Samsung seems to be at the early design stage but the rumors of the specs and features of the same are doing rounds online. Firstly, the carbon fiber body for S5 instead of all-metal aluminum body of Galaxy S4 is expected as Samsung has recently purchased half the shares of SGL group, which is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of carbon based products.

The partnership will benefit both the companies as carbon fiber will be used in a wide variety of Samsung devices. The carbon fiber body will give a satin finish premium look to the smartphone along with a lighter body weight and a prospect to mold it into any shape and design. However, the flexible OLED panel display that would allow for a bendable screen seems to be not possible for carbon fiber body.

Some more suggested features of the S5 are as follows:

S5 is supposed to run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and would sport a 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and 6x lossless zoom. A 5-inch 1080 P Super AMOLED Plus display with on-screen buttons instead of the physical home button that the Samsung Galaxy line normally has.

An eight-core Exynos 6 processor clocking in at 2GHz and a 64-core GPU with  4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory as Samsung would be responding to user complaints about lack of internal memory and heavy RAM usage are also on cards. There is a possibility of dual SD cards slots too.

For internet connectivity, 4G LTE is an option as the same has been rolled out with the Samsung Galaxy S4-LTE Advanced in South Korea. AT&T and Verizon have both spoken of bringing the super-fast 4G LTE capabilities to the US too, so it is certainly believable that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would have LTE capability and not the experimented 5G.

All these speculations are made on the leaks and reports online but the company has not given any words about the same.

Samsung Galaxy S5 vs HTC One : The All Metal Body Syndrome

Samsung never fails to disappoint its users. With every new launch, comes innovativeness. And now with Design 3.0, we hear Samsung is building its next-gen devices with high quality materials and designs.

Crafted in an aluminum unibody casing, the Galaxy S5 will be the first device sporting Design 3.0. This device, we believe will roll out in direct competition with other key players including HTC that has designed its flagship device the One in aluminum body. Attractive design, detailed features and quality materials used in the making has made the One a success. HTC, we hear is planning to adopt the same strategy in its upcoming HTC One Mini and HTC One Max.

Currently a top selling smartphone maker, Samsung has sold over 10 million units of Galaxy S4 within a month of its launch. However, the device also faced criticism for its plastic body, which Samsung has now fixed with Design 3.0.

Coming in competition with HTC, Apple and Sony, the Galaxy S5 will come with a non-removable battery as it’ll be made with the unibody case. However, no launch date or company’s plans for S5 have been revealed. But we can rest assure knowing that at least all of Samsung’s upcoming devices will feature innovative Design 3.0.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Looking Towards More Power and Assertiveness, Hints Suggest

The Samsung Galaxy S4 may be the newbie in the smartphone market still, but that’s not going to stop people from speculating what to expect from Samsung in the future. Yes, we’re talking about the Galaxy S5 and what it could possibly feature.

Android Authority claims to have found some dirt on the upcoming Galaxy S5 or some other next-gen smartphone in recent patents filed by Samsung. The future devices from Samsung could have flexible displays, a brand new camera technology and possible even a curved body.

Samsung has already given us a sneak peek into the flexible display earlier this year at CES 2013, so we can possibly believe that bit of information. But Android Authority has shed further light by stating that this technology could detect how the screen is bent to adjust the output image accordingly to get the best possible quality. The flexible display could also be bent in a concave or convex manner in order to zoom in or out of the content on the screen, similar to the pinch and zoom feature.

But what we’re more eager to learn about is the curved smartphone patent. This overall curving could potentially give us better viewing angles on the smartphone, while making it even more comfortable to hold in our hands. Another patent filed by Samsung is around allowing users to ‘turn pages’ on e-books, to give a more real-life feel on the device.… Read the rest

Samsung Galaxy S5 Vs Apple iPhone 6: All This To Bolt Out Apple From The Game

Samsung is basking in the glory of Samsung Galaxy S4 and it is expected that 100 million units of phone would be sold.  Still it is being said by analysts that Samsung is playing by the rule book of Apple. However we are hearing that Samsung Galaxy S5 would shift entirely the way the Samsung Galaxy  series is perceived.

According to one of the analysts in 2014 with the advent of Samsung Galaxy S5 Samsung will steal the top slot from Apple.

“Right now that is where it is stuck [under Apple]. With Apple’s form factor and Apple’s design language, chipping away and trying to make a good iPhone, iPad-like product,” wrote Haydn Shaughnessy, who spoke with analyst Jefferson Wang of the consulting firm IBB for an article in Forbes.

“Samsung is probably taking its last steps in Apple’s shadow,” he added. “In 2014 it will transform the computing and online experience, in a way that is unique to its own vision. Critics who think it lacks vision need to think again.”

According to Shaughnessy  in Samsung future plans there is a place for innovative screen technology which might be bendable  and there are possibilities for a new operating system ‘Tizen ‘.

Apple has not been able to seduce people since the first generation Apple iPhone and Apple iPad, may be after such innovative products the expectations from Apple have gone a little higher. While Samsung has played the move with Samsung Galaxy S4, now what remains to see is whether Apple with iPhone 6 would defeat Samsung or would go back and rest in the box.… Read the rest
