Micromax has recently launched its much awaited flagship smartphone, Micromax Canvas Knight A350, in India on March 5 2014.

The smartphone is equipped with high-end specifications and is available at a very affordable price tag of just under Rs 20,000. With lots of great features and low-price tag, it is very much likely to affect the sales of Samsung Grand 2 which costs nearly Rs 21,000. We present you the comparison of these two smartphone so that you are aware of their technical specification that will definitely help you in making the right decision. 

Samsung Grand 2 is available with a screen size of 5.25 inch having a pixel resolution of 1280x720p and pixel density close to 280 ppi (pixels per inch). On the other hand, Micromax Canvas Knight A350 is equipped with a 5-inch full HD screen with a pixel resolution of 1920x1080p and a staggering pixel density of 443 ppi.  

Grand 2 is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 series quad-core CPU Qualcomm processor along with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. Canvas Knight A350 has a 2.0 GHz Tru Octa-core chipset MediaTek processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory.

 Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 runs on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean, while Micromax Canvas Knight A350 operates on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean with firmware over-the-air for future updates.

 Grand 2 has a very good camera quality and is equipped with 8.0-megapixel camera on the rear-side and a 1.9-megapixel HD camera on the front. The smartphone also has some very attractive photo-editing features, such as sound & shot, continuous shot, HDR, beauty face, best face, rich tone, panorama, and sports and night that will take your photography experience to other level. On the other hand, the Micromax phone has a very high 16.0-megapixel main camera and an 8.0-megapixel camera on the front. Samsung Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Grand Duos Surface on Blog

After making rounds in FCC Samsung Galaxy Grand has now made its appearance fervently. Yet another big screen phone to join the Samsung smartphone bandwagon, Galaxy Grand sports a 5-inch screen.  The phone also has a dual SIM version called Galaxy Grand Duos.

The launch of the siblings was announced on Samsung’s official blog post. The blog said that Galaxy Grand Duos would see the light of the day first followed by it single SIM variant.

This latest offering from Samsung’s hive has a WVGA TFT screen and has (Andriod 4.1) Jelly beans spilled all over it. This smartphone runs on a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and has 1GB RAM.

The looks of the phone are borrowed from Galaxy S3 and there is an 8MP camera with LED flash, while there is a 2MP snapper on the front to enhance the video call experience.

It comes only in 8GB version but the memory can be extended to 64 GB thanks to its micro SD card. The device would give you full day run with a monstrous 2,100mAh battery. Running internet on the device would be a breeze as you have 3G, 2G connectivity coupled with Wi-Fi.

The extra features like Direct Call, Smart Alert, Popup Video and AllShare Play make the phone even more endearing.

Galaxy Grand Dous have similar features in addition to two slots for sim-cards.

Samsung Galaxy Grand: Work in Progress

After the overwhelming success of the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note II, Samsung has reportedly gotten to work on a brand new phablet device dubbed as the Galaxy Grand. With a similar 5-inch screen, it is expected to be a more affordable device than the Galaxy Note series. The Galaxy Grand’s screen will have a lower resolution, to keep the costs lower.

According to a report filed with the Federal Communications Commission, the Galaxy Grand will be powered by a Samsung Exynos 4412 quad-core mobile processor and will run on Android 4.1.1. It will have a 2100 mAh battery and an 800X480 pixel resolution 5-inch WVGA display.

The Galaxy Grand will support 4G connectivity, as well as WiFi and NFC capabilities. Codenamed as Baffin, the device will primarily be aimed at the emerging markets. Although there are no details as yet on the pricing, we’re hoping it’s affordably priced to make it a fad, especially among the Indian consumers.… Read the rest
