Android 4.3 To Cross The Barriers – Hits The Road with New Google Nexus 7

At Google’s event on the 24th, Android VP Hugo Barra introduced the new Nexus 7 and gave some much awaited news – Android 4.3 is finally here and will still be called Jelly Bean. Shipped with the Nexus 7, it will be on air for the other Nexus to update in the near future. Google has also indicated that it will be made available for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One which run pure Android OSs making them easy to update.

New Features for Android 4.3:

Android 4.3 features restricted profiles for kids like blocking certain function, shopping apps for example – a first for the Android platform. It has OPENGL|ES 3.0 for game developers. There is a new camera interface and some general performance improvements – like better graphics and the much awaited Bluetooth Low Energy support.  Notification access has also been much improved, you can now interact with them from the Android Status Bar and they can then be displayed in other apps or on devices via Bluetooth – like the Pebble smart watch.

So while it is not a huge change from the 4.2 platform, many users are still going to enjoy the fact that Android 4.3 is finally here.… Read the rest
