JBL announced the launch of its Charge 2 at the ongoing IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany. The device is now equipped with meatier audio and several other additional features when compared to its predecessor. The device has been given a cylindrical design and features two passive bass radiators and dual drives.
The JBL Charge 2 also has the capability to act as a speaker phone for calling when connected via Bluetooth. It also has a call answer key as well as power, Bluetooth and volume controls at the top.
It features a social mode option, enabling up to three people to simultaneously connect their device with the speaker. This will enable them to share the music playing responsibilities.

iPhone 6 launch
The first device in the line up is the flagship smartphone iPhone 6, which is expected to be released in two versions, with one having a 4.7-inch display and the other boasting a 5.5- or 5.7-inch screen. The smartphone is also likely to be equipped with Apple’s next OS version, iOS 8, and it would be more scratch resistant as compared to the screens of the current iPhones. It would also sport several other features, including 64-bit mobile processor, a clock speed of 2.6GHz and improved RAM. Additionally, it would have an advanced version of the camera along with optical image stabilization.
It was also reported earlier that Apple is planning to make iPhone 6 a mobile wallet. This will enable its users to make secure payments via mobile by just pressing a finger.
Apple iWatch Launch
Apple is also scheduled to launch iWatch that would be available in two versions having different sized OLED screens. One version would be having a large 2.5 inch screen, while another version would boast a more pedestrian 1.5 inch screen. It is also reported that the company is also planning to introduce its near field communication technology in the device that will enable users to pair their wrist worn devices with smartphones and tablets easily.
The company believes in perfection when it comes to design, and it is being said that nearly 100 people worked on the upcoming iWatch. The company hired several experts in the recent times as it does not want to comprise on designing and other features. Europe’s biggest electronics trade show IFA 2014 has finally set off and several companies including Samsung and others have made big announcements on the opening day. The Berlin show saw several new smartphones, computerized wristwatches and a virtual-reality headset. We bring to you a brief view of all the gadgets.
Samsung has announced that its two new smartphones as well as a virtual-reality headset will be commercially available in October 2014. The Galaxy Note 4 is equipped with a Quad-HD display having a pixel resolution of 2560×1440 along with a Super AMOLED screen. It has a screen size of 5.7 inches, and its pixel density has been increased from 386 ppi to an astounding 515 ppi. Meanwhile, the Note Edge is equipped with a 5.6-inch screen with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440. It has a Quad HD+ display. The device allows users to quickly access used apps, alerts and device functionality even at the time when the cover is closed or the screen is locked.
The Galaxy Note 4 is available in two versions with one having a 2.7 GHz quad-core one and the second one with a 1.9 GHz Octa-core processor. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note Edge is available in only one version with a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor.
Sony launched three new devices during the show – the Xperia Z3 smartphone, the 4.6-inch Xperia Z3 Compact and the 8-inch Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The devices are likely to be available in the market this fall; however, not much information has been provided on their pricing. Meanwhile, the Japanese company also showcased its Smartwatch 3 that will run on 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 512MB of RAM. Taiwanese PC manufacturer Acer launched three new tablets during the electronics show. Japanese electronics giant Sony has finally introduced Google’s Android Wear software into its latest smartphone. Sony Android Wear SmartWatch 3 was launched during the ongoing IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany. However, the company had earlier announced that it is not planning to switch over to Google’s wearable platform. The company has now officially said that the device will indeed feature Android Wear. The upcoming Sony’s Smartwatch 3 will run on 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 512MB of RAM.
The device will be equipped with 1.6 inch display as well as its trademarked IP68 waterproof standard. Sony’s Android Wear SmartWatch 3 will have a square form factor. Some of its notable features include 4GB of storage memory, NFC support and GPS. Additionally, the device will be having quite a good battery of 420mAh, offering enhanced battery life than the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live.
The Smartwatch 3 can be charged via microUSB, while it will also have an open port on its side. The company has said that the device is expected to be up for sale sometime this fall and will be available with a price tag of €230 in Eurpoe. ASUS has finally announced the launch of its much-awaited smartwatch ASUS ZenWatch, which is powered by Android. The company has also announced its Intel-powered Android tablet dubbed as the MeMO Pad 7 as well as EeeBook X205.
The ZenWatch is among the most attractive devices by the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, and its feartures and specifications are at par with the Samsung’s earlier Gear Live.
The smartwatch is equipped with a 1.63 inch AMOLED display having a pixel resolution of 320 x 320. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor as well as sports 4 GB of ROM and 512 MB of RAM, similar to the hardware specifications of the Nokia Lumia 530 smartphone.
