As per the latest speculation in the rumour mill, HTC is all set to launch its Butterfly S smartphone on June 19 in Taiwan along with the Desire 600.
A successor of the HTC Butterfly or Droid DNA, the HTC Butterfly S is now confirmed for June release.
Alongside a 5-inch full HD display, the Butterfly S will sport a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. However, comparing with its predecessor, the Butterfly S is expected to roll out with minor updates. We are hoping to look for an improved camera, something like an UltraPixel one in HTC’s flagship device the HTC One. Other expected changes include an increased battery life and additional memory support via a microSD card slot.
Officially announced in May, June 19 will also mark the way for the HTC Desire 600. This mid-range dual-SIM smartphone will roll out with a 4.5-inch HD display. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, the HTC Desire 600 will hold 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board memory. Made to run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the device will have HTC Sense 5.0 UI on top and will come packed with an 1860mAh battery. With an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 1.6-megapixel front camera, the device will capture clear photos.

Samsung finally showed the world its latest flagship smartphone for 2013, and well, we finally get to see how different it is from Apple iPhone 5. While a lot of critics maintain that there’s nothing that great in terms of specs in the Galaxy S4, it sure did manage to grab a lot of the spotlight even before its release. But will it fare better than some of the existing popular devices in the market, for instance the HTC Butterfly?
Samsung Galaxy S4: Samsung’s Galaxy S4 features a large 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 441 ppi. Samsung is planning two versions of the Galaxy S4 for different markets – one with a quad-core 1.9 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor and 2 GB of RAM and the other with a Samsung Exynos 5 octo-core 1.6 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. Both these versions will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy S4 is fitted with a 13 MP rear camera and a 2 MP camera in the front, as well as a ton of camera features to please the shutterbugs. Add to that advanced features like eye tracking and floating touch and you can only imagine why we maintain that this phone has potential. You can choose from 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage and the phone also supports microSD cards, while there’s a 2,600 mAh battery in the phone.
HTC Butterfly: There’s a lot of similarity between these two phones – like the Galaxy S4, the HTC Butterfly also has a 5-inch display with a resolution of 441 ppi, but it’s a Super LCD3 screen. Running on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean which can be upgraded to Android 4.2, the phone is powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon Krait processor and 2 GB of RAM. There’s 16 GB of internal storage as well as support for microSD card. In terms of camera, however, the Galaxy S4 is better equipped – the HTC Butterfly has an 8 MP rear camera and a 2.1 MP front-facing one. Even the 2,020 mAh battery seems far too small in comparison.… Read the rest
