The Google Nexus 5 is the newest flagship device from the search giant. It has been launched amidst much hype and speculation. Though the Google Nexus 5 ticks all the boxes, there are still some things that leave potential users disappointed.
The Exchange email application on the Nexus 5 could have done with much improvement. As opposed as the HTC’s Exchange application, the Exchange app on the Nexus 5 resembles the Gmail app. However, it does even feature conversation view.
On the Nexus 5, there are two ‘speaker’ fence openings at the base of the device. However, the speaker is found in only one grille and the speaker quality is not impressive. On the contrary, HTC has two excellent stereo speakers found on the front and they offer incredible sound.
The phone contacts on the Google Nexus 5 do not sync with other profiles of the contact. For instance, if the contact has not created a Google account, then the photo will not load for the contact. On the other hand, on a device like HTC One, the contact’s photos are easily tied to other social network services so each contact easily gets a contact image.
Also the camera UI offered in this Android device is quite basic and sometimes, frustrating to use as you are swiping up and browsing the options. Also, what makes the camera even more difficult to use is that it takes a long time at focusing and subjects like pets and small kids look blurry and hazy as they will not stay stable for a long time.
On the Nexus 5, the My Google Now panel is hardly of any use even though one is using Chrome. Though the My Google Now panel offers some useful information, but it does not qualify as a critical feature.
Google Nexus 5 has been brought in market too counter Apple’s new offering, Apple iPhone 5S. But does Nexus 5 has strong enough features to kill Apple iPhone 5, let’s take look:
Apple iPhone 5S is loaded with A7 which has made for faster mobile computing experience where as LG Nexus 5 sports a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip has the speed upto 2.3GHz. What gives Nexus 5 an edge above Apple iPhone 5S is its extra 2 GB Ram which makes working on Nexus 5 a breeze.
To maintain its high definition display, Google Nexus is loaded Adreno 330 graphic workhorse.
Google Nexus 5 has far better display than Apple iPhone 5S. According to Ibtimes, “ Google Nexus 5 has a 1080p display resolution which has pixel density of 440ppi as compared to pixel density 326 ppi of Apple iPhone 5S.”
Another edgy factor of Google Nexus 5 is that it has 5-inch screen which makes it a phablet in front of 4-inch display of Apple iPhone 5S.
Google Nexus 5 has enhanced its internet activity by incorporating the LTE capability where is Apple has still not considered bringing LTE capabilities to its devices.
The major factor here is price, Google Nexus 5 (unlocked) starting price is $350 where is Apple iPhone 5S starts at the price of $200 on contract basis.
With the Moto G handset set to release today across the globe, here’s the specs comparison viz-a-viz the newly released Google Nexus 5:
DISPLAY: The Nexus 5 with a 5-inch screen and 1080p HD display is very good for viewing, whereas the Moto G offers 4.5-inch screen with 720p display. Nexus 5 wins over Moto G as far as display is concerned, but the latter still offers good HD viewing than many phones in similar price range.
Performance: Moto G boasts of a robust and powerful quad-core Snapdragon microprocessor chip with 1.2GHz speed. Not that great, but decent experience for Moto G users. When it comes to Nexus 5, again, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2.3GHz speed, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 30 GPU makes it a far better device in terms of performance. One thing has to be noted though, Nexus 5 battery capacity won’t be as good as that in Moto G thanks to the powerful hardware in Nexus 5.
Storage Capacity: Moto G handset will offer 8GB of internal flash storage capacity. It remains to be seen whether the storage can be expanded. Nexus 5 has been released in 16GB and 32GB variants, with no feature of expandable storage.
Price: Moto G is being viewed as a budget device in US, UK and Indian markets, with its price being decent for a mid-range phone. Around Rs.16,000 may be the starting price of the handset. For users in the US, Google may plan to distribute the phones for free. The newly released Nexus 5 is set to release in India with a price of around Rs 28,000
Both the phones look savvy and feature-loaded. Nexus 5 undoubtedly is a powerhouse, but Moto G has great features to offer to users for the price it is being offered at.… Read the rest

The vertical design on the Nexus 5 does make Google take up a “forward march” stance in this war against all Android based competitors. This new design has also surely made the ground shift under Apple’s feet after their recent release of the iPhone 5.
Various users, critics and sources have credified the fact that a white colored model is the best selling color with regards to cell-phones these days.
