After keeping us in the dark for oh so long a time, Samsung finally put an end to all speculation and teasing on March 14th when it finally unveiled the Galaxy S4 smartphone at an event in New York. Looks like the company is all set to hold on to its prized position as the world leader in smartphones, and make the Galaxy S4 the world’s favorite smartphone this year.
For those of you who were expecting something radically different in terms of form factor, you might just be disappointed at first glance. The Galaxy S4 features an overall design that takes a lot from its predecessor – similar pebbled edges and all plastic body. But, then again, if size matters to you, you will love its 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED screen.
And in addition to the floating touch and eye tracking technologies on the phone, there’s also an IR blaster in the power button which can let you use the Galaxy S4 as a universal remote. Now isn’t that nifty? The shutterbugs are guaranteed to fall for the Galaxy S4’s 13 MP rear camera and the 2 MP front-facing one – both of them can shoot videos at 1080p resolution. The camera comes with a host of funky features like dual shot, letting you record simultaneously using both cameras, drama shot, cinema photo, story album, etc.
The Galaxy S4 comes with 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, and there’s also a microSD card slot for those of you who would need more storage. The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s improved TouchWiz Nature UX overlay.
