Nexus 5, 7, HTC One to Receive Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS Update: Upgrade to Happen in Mid-April

The much awaited Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS update is expected to happen in mid-April to List of Firsts to Receive Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS Update Expected to Happen in Mid-AprilASUS Nexus 7, LG Nexus 5 and HTC One Google Play Edition. Android 4.4.2 KitKat version has several bug issues, most serious being the ‘mm-qcamera-daemon’.

This bug causes the camera feature to function in the background. This happens even if the user is not necessarily using the camera. This makes the battery drain out due to the alleged high usage of CPU.

A whole lot of other bugs are plaguing Android devices running on 4.4.2v KitKat like regularize camera focus, frequent connection drop while using mobile data, power manager display wake up lock, HDR mode issues, multiple Bluetooth problems, random reboot, incorrect data usage chart, Wi-Fi auto-connect malfunction, etc.

The new Android 4.4.3v Kitkat OS is designed to fix all bugs present in the 4.4.2v. However, it would be wrong to expect any new feature from this updated OS. Google would probably save any new feature for the next major Android version.

Rumor has it that the Nexus devices are likely to receive the update first. However, according to the ROM developed and an HTC insider, HTC One Google Play Edition is also in the list of firsts to receive the new version of Android KitKat.

Nexus 5, 4, 7, 10 Likely To Have Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS Update

A leaked photo by Android Origin has showed that Google is all set to roll out Android 4.4.3 Nexus 5, 4, 7, 10 Likely To Have Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS UpdateKitkat OS update for Nexus devices. The image showed Google Nexus 7 tablet featuring Android version 4.4.3.

It was earlier reported that Google is seriously working towards on the new Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS update, but the company has still not officially revealed that when it is going to release the new mobile software.

However, the updates are quite doubtful as there is no official announcement or hint by the company. Google has not released any data regarding the official change log if the update is already being pushed. The company would have at least updated the AOSP binaries page when a new update has been released.

Another suspicious area is the Build Number. The likely build number of the new update was scheduled to be KTU72B and KTU83 where KT stood for KitKat, U for Update, and the numbers meant the builds were made on the 72nd day of 2014 and the 83rd day of 2014. However, the leaked photo is showing the build number as KMU89C.

The photo circulated online on April 1, leading to high possibility that it could be an April Fool’s Day prank. Thus, Android users should not take this news too excitedly as nothing has been confirmed by Google as of now.

Meanwhile, it has been reported by Android Police that Android 4.4.3 is scheduled to be a massive bug fix update, and users must not expect the update to bring any cosmetic changes or new features.

Other bug fixes that are likely to be included in the Kitkat update are frequent data connection dropout fix, camera focus fix, power manager display wake lock fix, multiple Bluetooth fixes, random reboot fix, USB debugging security fix, Wi-Fi auto-connect fix, stuck in activation screen fix, missed call LED fix and VPN Fix.
