Looks like retailers in the U.K. have caught on to this adage, as many of them have started sales of the Sony Xperia Z a day before its official launch on March 1, 2013. The cheapest deal for an unlocked version of Sony’s latest flagship phone is being offered by Phone4U – you can buy a handset for £489.95 here, while it will cost you £514.98 at Unlocked Mobiles and £522 at Clove, along with a £65 wireless speaker free.
For those of you who don’t mind going in for a contract with a carrier, you can get the Sony Xperia Z in black or white free with a £36 monthly charge. Orange also has a contract on the Xperia Z with the same rental, but it is also offering 600 minutes, unlimited SMS and even 1 GB of data with this phone. You can also opt for 900 minutes, unlimited SMS and 250 MB of data with this contract. The purple Xperia Z is available on contract with O2 for £39 a month. But those who need more data can choose to take a contract with EE. The company is offering unlimited calls and SMS, as well as 20 GB of data for a monthly rental of £61.
Customers in the U.S. still don’t have a contract option available, but can pick up an unlocked Xperia Z from GSM Nation for $849. However, this phone won’t run on the LTE networks in US, but you can run it on AT&T’s 3G network and T-Mobile’s EDGE networks too.
