Sony’s back with a bang into the mobile phone space, and this time the company has gone Android! The latest of their offerings, Xperia V was announced back in August and should hit the stores by December. It has 3G as well as 4G/LTE connectivity options, and here’s why we think it’s going to be an interesting pick:
Probably the most exciting thing about the Xperia V is Sony’s claims that it is waterproof up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. So for all you clumsy people, maybe this should be your next buy. With a 4.3-inch display made of scratch-resistant glass and powered by Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, it can reproduce colors gorgeously. The Xperia V is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and 1 GB of RAM, and runs on Android 4.0, which can be upgraded to Android 4.1.
A good move by Sony is to include a microSD card slot in this model, because we’re pretty certain that its 8 GB of internal storage can be filled up in a jiffy. The Xperia V comes with a 13 MP rear camera and LED flash, and the camera has quite a few advanced features like 3D sweep panorama, face and smile detection, as well as image stabilization. The camera can even record video at 1080p resolution at 30 fps, and with a video light, you can even record videos in low-light conditions.
The Sony Xperia V has a 1750 mAh battery powering it, which promises a talk-time of 7 hours and music playback for up to 18 hours. Not bad for a smartphone, we must say! It’s available in three color variants – black, white and pink. The phone comes with a superfast Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi – both Direct and hotspot, as well as DLNA connectivity options. So, is this the phone for you?
