Sony Unveils Vaio Duo 11 Tablet-Ultrabook Hybrid

It’s great time to be scouting the markets for a new computing device, especially now that the brilliant Windows 8 is finally here. Sony has just launched the Vaio Duo 11, a device that can be used as a laptop as well as a tablet, in the Indian market. The Vaio Duo 11 is essentially an Ultrabook which can also double up as a tablet by sliding its display.

The device features a unique surf-slider device to convert from a laptop to a tablet. All you need to do is to fold the display right on top of the keyboard to transform this laptop into a tablet. The Vaio Duo 11 has an 11.6-inch LED backlit TFT LCD display with capacitive touch capability. It is powered by an Intel Core i5 dual-core processor with a clock-speed of 1.5 GHz and turbo boost functionality that can take it up to a speed of 2.6 GHz if required.

The Vaio Duo 11 has 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage space. It offers WiFi connectivity so that users can browse the internet even when on the move. It’s powered by Windows 8 – of course, and weighs just about 1.3 kg. But the coolest thing about the Vaio Duo 11 is the inclusion of two full HD cameras – one at the rear and one on the front, which can record videos at 1920X1080 pixel resolution. You can pick up a Vaio Duo 11 device from Sony India retailers for a price of Rs. 89,990 from December onwards.
