If you’re wondering why things at Sony have been unusually quiet ever since the launch of the Xperia Z smartphone and tablet, that’s because the company is busy working on a brand new ‘superphone’. The Xperia Z received quite a few accolades ever since its release and has been doing pretty well in the market. But Sony’s not content.
In the age of high-end smartphones, the company’s planning to offer a new smartphone called the Honami – to compete with Samsung Galaxy S4, the upcoming iPhone, HTC One, etc. Sony will bring in all of its best technologies into the Honami to pack quite a massive punch, if rumors are to be believed.
The Honami is expected to have a 5-inch full HD screen, a dedicated Walkman audio chip for brilliant sound, possibly be powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and either a 2,700 or a 3,100 mAh battery. What makes this phone even more exciting is that it could come with a 20 MP camera, although some other sites have toned it down to 16 MP.
The Honami’s screen will feature a unique Triluminos display, an exclusive technology by Sony, making it sharper and far better than that of other phones out in the market. Of course, none of this information has been confirmed by Sony yet, so we don’t know if and when the Honami will be unveiled.
