It’s International Women’s Day. Meant to enable, empower and create a little bit of strength for women globally. At TechThirty we are passionate about women in STEM. Therefore, it was only apt that we did some research for scholarships for women in tech in India. Scholarships and bootcamps that can help enable girls who are keen on STEM careers.
So we dug a little and found 25 scholarships and bootcamps for women in tech in India. These programs are listed in no particular order.
Amazon Future Engineer
Amazon Future Engineer is a childhood as well as career enhancement program. Medant primarily for disadvantages young people, the program offers access to computer science education, especially to women from low-income backgrounds.
Girls who are interested in pursuing a career in computer science can apply for scholarship and internship opportunities with the Amazon Future Engineer program. This platform encourages school teachers, administrators, and non-profits working with disadvantaged young people to reach out as well.
TalentSprint Women Engineers (WE)
Run by Google, this program is for women students who are pursuing the first year of B.E./B.Tech programs. If you are a student of CS, IT, EEE, ECE, or equivalent, TalentSprint Women Engineers might be for you.
It is a 24-month intensive, live online learning experience. They typically enroll 200 students in a cohort. Most students receive a 100% scholarship to cover the program fee. There is also a cash scholarship for selected participants and several alumni of this program are now working with leading tech companies.
Masai School EmpowerHer
EmpowerHer is a scholarship program with 250 students in a cohort. This is a nation-wide career transformation program by Masai School. This is a 5-month web development bootcamp with a 2-month internship support. There is 100% scholarship for eligible women.
Run live by experts, it is a career-ready industry ready program. A beneficial bootcamp for women in tech in India.
Nutanix NextGen Innovators Scholarship
A program for full-time UG students in their 3rd or 4th year, this scholarship fuels innovation. Ideal for students with a major in AI, engineering, game design, mathematics, CS, IS, cybersecurity, statistics etc., this program is for residents of India.
The Nutanix NextGen Innovators Scholarships offers 10 scholarships worth $2,500 USD or 224,768 INR.
AICTE Scholarship & Fellowship
Pragati Scholarship is provided to meritorious girl students applying to AICTE-approved institutions. They could be applying to technical courses for a degree or diploma program. This scholarship offers Rs. 50000 per annum per year of study.
So far, over 10,000 scholarships have been distributed among girl students in AICTE approved institutions and courses across 23 States/UTs & for all eligible girl students.
