Wearable smartwatches are yet to make a market in the commercial space, and this season is likely to change the whole story. Samsung and LG have already created buzz with their upcoming flagship watches ahead of the IFA 2014. We now bring to you the comparison between the Samsung Gear S and LG G Watch R smartwatches.
The Samsung Gear S smartwatch has a screen dimension of 58mm, 40mm and 12.5mm, while there is no information available about the LG G Watch R smartwatch. The Samsung device has been manufactured with a curved rectangle shape, while the LG device has been designed in flat circle shape.
The Samsung Gear S has been equipped with a screen size of 2 inches with a screen resolution of 360 X 480 and ppi of 300. The LG G Watch R has a screen size of 1.3 inches having a pixel resolution of 320 X 320 and a screen ppi of 246.
The Samsung smartwatch has Super AMOLED touch screen, while the LG G Watch R has been designed with plastic AMOLED touch screen.
The Samsung device will have the onscreen keyboard as well as enable its users to make phone calls. On the other hand the LG device will not be having any keyboard and will not offer calling feature.
Additionally, both devices are equipped with heart rate monitor as well as fitness tracking app.The Samsung Gear S is powered by 1GHz dual core processor with 512 MB RAM, while the LG G Watch R will have the 1GHz quad core processor with 512 MB RAM.
Both devices will offer internal storage capacity of 4GB. The Samsung device will have 300mAh battery, while the LG device will be having 410mAh battery. The Samsung Gear S is scheduled to be launched on October 2014, while the LG G Watch R would make commercial appearance in Q414.
However, there is not much information available about the prices of both the devices. We will have to wait for the next few days until the IFA 2014 when we will get some more clarity on the devices.
