Certain rumours had hit the web regarding Samsung’s plans to use an Intel Atom processor in its upcoming Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. And now latest reports confirm that at least one version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will come packed with Intel Clover Trail+ mobile chip.
Getting an entry into Samsung’s device is a major victory for Intel who has been struggling to find its way into smartphones and tablets running Android. Intel has made its powerful chips more efficient and use less energy.
Earlier also Samsung and Intel jointly formed Tizen OS, the mobile operating system Samsung uses to reduce its dependence on Google’s Android operating system.
Currently, Intel powers various Samsung’s desktop, laptop and tablet computers that run Microsoft’s Windows operating system.
Why Samsung is opting for Intel as the processor for its tabs, when earlier it used its own Exynos processor stays unclear.
However, all eyes are set on June 20th in London, when Samsung is expected to unveil new Galaxy smartphones, ATIV Windows 8 laptops and tablets, and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
