When we first heard rumors about Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2013, the Galaxy S4, we’d heard that it could possibly be one of the first phones to come with a brand new Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. But, Samsung didn’t wait for Google to finish making the OS and went ahead and brought out the Galaxy S4 without it.
While Google’s supposedly planning to release the new version of Android during its developer conference in May, Samsung’s flagship is expected to come out by the end of this month. So how soon really will the Galaxy S4 get the Android 5.0 update? Samsung has promised that it will dish out the update ASAP, but from past experience, we can only imagine how much time that would take.
Of course, it would mean that Samsung would have to make the necessary changes in its TouchWiz interface too to make sure it’s compatible with the new OS. So, will this make Apple more smug about its rival, given that it’s the one of the most important downsides to the Galaxy S4 the company had pointed out?
