The Samsung Galaxy S3 went on to become the world’s most popular smartphone in 2012, and now that Samsung’s unveiled its brand new flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone, everyone’s wondering if the company can repeat this feat in 2013 too. So what all has changed when you pit the Galaxy S4 against its hugely successful predecessor?
Design: Not much seems to have changed in this regard, with the Galaxy S4 just looking like a slightly larger version of the Galaxy S3. But yes, the Galaxy S4 is thinner and lighter than the latter, and we love its brushed metal bezel.
Display: The Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and images look quite sharp and color looks quite realistic too. The Galaxy S3 comes with a 4.8-inch screen, but in terms of resolution, of course, the new phone takes a major lead. Add to that the new floating touch feature in the phone and you can see how much of effort Samsung’s put in making the Galaxy S4.
Experience: In terms of OS, not much has changed, but the Galaxy S4 comes with an improved TouchWiz Nature UX overlay. The phone allows for ample customization with a huge set of wallpapers, widgets and icons to choose from. And of course, there’s Air View, Air Gestures, and lots of cool new things to do with the camera in the Galaxy S4.
Of course, it’s bigger and better than its predecessor, but we do wish Google had managed to launch a new Android version that the Galaxy S4 could have launched with. But
Samsung has managed to put in lots of cool features in the phone to make it work a lot differently than the Galaxy S3. So, are you upgrading soon?
