Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Android 4.4 KitKat Update Is Here On Google Play

1175515_520929347989676_759599250_nAs expected, search giant Google has begun rolling-out the Android KitKat 4.4 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition and HTC One devices.

Not too long ago, HTC had posted the framework files and kernel source for the HTC One Google Play Edition on the forum HTCdev. This was followed by Samsung posting the kernel source code for its Samsung S4 Google Edition at the Open Source Release Centre, hinting that the KitKat Android OTA update was almost geared up to be rolled out.

Google maintains an official Android G+ account, through which it stated that it will be seeding the 4.4 KiKat update for HTC One Google Play Edition and Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition.  Google Play Edition device owners can find the update by going to Settings>> About Phone>> System>> Updates>> Check now.  Users active at XDA Forum have also confirmed about the rolling out of Android 4.4 KitKat update for the HTC One Google Edition. Some members have also put up screen shots of the KitKat system update that would come for the HTC one. If the screenshot is anything to go by, then the KitKat 4.4 update will weigh at 305 MB and the KitKat update will be bringing several exciting features and also enhances the performance of the device.

Additionally, the latest software update from Android well incorporates all goodies from KitKat, which are seen in the Nexus 5 and also the Google Experience Launcher. However, users who want to use the Launcher can get the update easily from the Nexus 5’s system dump.  The 4.4 OTA update be directly installed or side-loaded to the HTC One Play Edition using stock recovery. All that the user has to do is place the downloaded firmware package on the device’s local storage and then apply the downloaded update.
