Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Android 4.4.2 KitKat Firmware: This is How to Install?

The developers of CyanogenMod 11 made the update from Android 4.4 to Android 4.4.2 customised ROM for GS3 Mini with the changes mentioned below:

Requisitions

  1. 1.      GT – I8190 Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini
  2. 2.      Go for manual backup of your private details, files and settings
  3. 3.      Ensure battery is more than 50%
  4. 4.      Root the device and launch Clockwork Mod customised recovery
  5. 5.      Allow USB debugging mode. Go for Settings > Applications > Development as well as USB Debugging
  6. 6.      Download and launch the USB driver for S3 Mini on the system
  7. 7.      Download CyanogenMod 11 and apps package of Google on the computer

  1. 1.      Connect the device with the computer via USB cable.
  2. 2.      Copy the Google Apps pack and Cyanogen Mod 11 to SD card of the device
  3. 3.      Remove the phone and switch it off
  4. 4.      Reboot it in the recovery mode by pressing Volume up + power + home, till Samsung logo comes
  5. 5.      In the recovery mode, make Android backup and choose backup and restore. You can restore the saved ROM anytime.
  6. 6.      Make a full wipe on the phone. Select wipe data and factory reset, wipe cache and choose advanced > wipe Dalvik cache
  7. 7.      Install the Cyanogen Mod 11 from the install zip of SD card and select zip from SD card, select firmware and choose installation.
  8. 8.      After the installation reboot the system
  9. 9.      The phone will reboot and take around 5 minutes to start

 

Now your device runs on the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat with the Cyanogen Mod11 customised ROM
