Samsung Galaxy S2 Firmware Android Kitkat 4.4 Update: Port CynogenMod Easily

While the Android KitKat 4.4 update has created an upsurge among fans, there is some bad news for Samsung Galaxy S2 users. However, CyanogenMod has rung in some cheer for Galaxy S2 owners. By this, they have made Android 4.4 KitKat portable for the device via the CM version 11.

It is now possible to port CyanogenMod 11 on the Samsung Galaxy S2 model (GT-I9100). This comes with firmware based on Android Open Source Project.

What are the requisites?

1. Flash the firmware to Samsung Galaxy S2.

2. Root your smartphone and go on to install custom recovery. ClockworkMod recovery works best.

3. Install all allied USB drivers of the Samsung Galaxy S2 on the PC.

4. Ensure that a manual backup is performed for settings and all data files of the phone.

5.  You need to ensure that the battery level is no less than 50 per cent.

6. Enable the USB debugging mode on the Galaxy S2.  For this, access “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging mode.”

7. Finally, download CyanogenMod 11 available for the Galaxy Note N7000 and Google Appspackage to the PC.
