Today’s the day Samsung officially launches its brand new 8-inch tablet, the Galaxy Note 8.0. Touted as the iPad Mini killer, the tablet boasts of terrific specs and also comes with Samsung’s now popular S Pen. Even though it’s priced rather high at $400, we doubt if even the 2nd generation iPad Mini which is expected to be unveiled soon could hold a candle against it.
It promises true multitasking abilities, and not just in terms of its powerful processor’s performance. With smart functions like multi-window letting you run more than 1 app on the tablet’s screen, you can see why we feel it’s bound to be a runaway success.
And then there’s the gorgeous S Pen, perfect for scribbling down notes, hovering over the screen to let you preview e-mails or web pages. It makes for a handy device for designers as well.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a quad-core 1.6 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. The only benefit the iPad Mini 2 could have over the Galaxy Note 8.0’s 1280X800 pixel screen is if it comes with Apple’s famed Retina Display.
