Samsung Galaxy A8+ with Android 7.1.1 Nougat Is Questionable

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ has already given the company a lead with some amazing features, including live focus for the front camera, face recognition technology, Bixby voice assistant and the infinity display panel. Designed to offer customized experience, the Samsung Galaxy A8+ has Samsung Experience 8.5 based on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Looks Matter

Priced at INR 32,990, the phone is set to give stiff competition to the likes of the OnePlus 5T, Nokia 8, keeping in mind the features that come along. When talking about looks the phone is a reminiscent of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8. The curved glass, its proportions glass back, and the Infinity Display makes it ideal for customized experience. The Samsung Galaxy A8+ is 75.7mm wide, 8.3mm thick, and 159.9mm tall, with a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, te look and feel of the phone is similar to the flagship models and looks nice and vibrant with good brightness levels and decent viewing angles.

The on-screen buttons are the result of the HD display that has a dual selfie camera setup on the screen, the first on a Samsung smartphone. It also has one 16-megapixel sensor and one 8-megapixel sensor. The face recognition technology works pretty well and also recognize different faces even in low light.

The glass back gives a decent grip to the curved design. But the surviving ability is in question if and when the phone falls. The fingerprint sensor got relocated below the rear camera sensor and can be an issue for users with thick fingers.

The loudspeaker and the power/ lock button on the right makes it a volume rocker. The company planned to retain the headphone jack along with the secondary microphone, amicroSD card slot, and a second SIM slot.

Strong Core

The core has the new octa-core Samsung Exynos 7885 SoC, the latest mid-range processor from Samsung. Along with it are the two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The smartphone is loaded with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card.

Additionally, the smartphone has a few Samsung apps such as Samsung Connect, Samsung Members, Samsung Health, and Galaxy Apps. It also comes with Microsoft apps including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneDrive, and LinkedIn.
