The much-awaited Redmi Note 8 launch date seems to be near. Probably before the end of this month. No, this is not an official announcement. Instead, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun seems to have hinted that the new Redmi smartphone might get unveiled with the company’s 70” TV, which is scheduled to be launched on August 29. This was done on a chance interaction online.
Jun revealed a poster featuring the upcoming Redmi TV on the Chinese microblogging website, Weibo on Monday. A Weibo user had asked him in the comments if the Redmi Note 8 will be launched on the same day? Jun has replied to the comment with a thumbs-up giving rise to the speculations.
Although, there has been no official announcement, alleged images of the Redmi Note 8 have already been released on the social media through an unverified leak. Picture of a white phone and another with a glossy black finish and curved edges rumored to be the live images of the Redmi Note 8 have been making the rounds on the Internet for some time now.
The company had earlier confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 is in the development and it promises bigger battery and better picture quality. Redmi’s General Manager, Lu Weibing has also hinted through his Weibo posts that the company is set to launch a phone featuring the 64-megapixel camera sensor in the near future which is most likely to be the Redmi Note 8 series smartphone.
Redmi Note 7 series had gained immense popularity among the smartphone buyers in various countries including India. Xiaomi loyalists are eagerly awaiting for the latest successor in the Redmi Note series to upgrade their phones.
Jun had also teased some of the key specifications of the latest smartphone including efficient battery performance and more screen space for playing games. It is likely to have a larger battery with faster charging, improved picture quality and higher screen-to-body ratio than the Redmi Note 7 series.
Xiaomi officials have already announced plans to bring in a quad rear camera setup with the 64-megapixel camera sensors in their new phones. The Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has also confirmed the use of Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensors in one of its upcoming smartphone. It is expected to be featured in one of the smartphones in the Redmi Note 8 series.
Many users in the Asian market are also looking for the Redmi’s latest 70 inches smart TV set to be launched on August 29 at a Xiaomi event in China. It is rumored that the company can also launch a 40 inch variant of the Redmi TV in the upcoming event. The new smart TV is likely to be powered by the PatchWall operating system like the rest of the Xiaomi TVs and will offer a range of smart features in its TV.
