Rumor mills have been spinning speculations around the launch of OnePlus smart TV for a long time now. While some news channels are saying that the new OnePlus TV might get launched by the end of next month, there are others who think that OnePlus TV will not enter the market anytime soon. However, the company has recently released the official logo and name today itself via a blog on their forum community. This has left tech freaks like us wondering about the launch date of the smart TV.
Announcement of OnePlus Smart TV Name and Logo
Almost a year ago, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer had announced plans to venture into the TV industry and had posted the TV naming competition on social media. The Chinese firm has simply named it as ‘OnePlus TV’ and features the familiar OnePlus logo for its smart TV as well.
The company said in a blog post, “Yes, we are going to call our very first smart TV product “OnePlus TV” – simple yet to-the-point – as we believe there’s no other name that can best represent our value, vision, and pride than naming it with our own brand. (Sic.)”
Expected Features of OnePlus TV
The official logo for the OnePlus smart TV features its brand logo we’re familiar with, only followed by ‘TV’ in an interesting and clean font.
The blog post noted that the logo is based on the principles of geometric progressions and represents the company’s burdenless design philosophy. It explains that the gap between the ‘+’ sign and the logo edge is twice the gap between the ‘+’ sign and the letter ‘T’, which is also twice as much as the space between the two letters ‘T’ and ‘V’.
Pete Lau, Chief Executive Officer, OnePlus has said in a recent interview, “India will be one of the first markets to get the OnePlus TV and will be available through Amazon. We haven’t set a deadline as yet because we want it to be the best there is.”
