When recently OnePlus launched OnePlus 5T, we were eager to know what separates the latest flagship mobile from its predecessor. The new smartphone has got all new bazel-less body and edge-to-edge display. OnePlus 5T has got impressive camera sensor that support its facial recognition system. OnePlus smartphone has come up with larger display size this time. The new 18:9 aspect ratio has covered entire front panel and has replaced physical home button, moving fingerprint scanner to the back panel. The size of OnePlus 5T is 156.1x75x7.3mm dimension, bigger than OnePlus 5 which is 154.3×74.1×7.25mm. The new smartphone weighs slightly higher than its predecessor by 9 grams, weighing 162 grams in total. However, color restriction may disappoint some buyers this time. The new flagship mobile comes only in Midnight Black.

Thought the phones are very much identical to each other, we have managed to take out a few convincing differences. The new mobile has dual camera setup unlike the previous model. The OnePlus 5T features a 6.01-inch ful-HD display with Full Optic AMOLED. It has 401 ppi of pixel density and 2.5D Corning Gorillas Glass 5 for its protection. On the other hand, the OnePlus 5 has a 5.5-inch full-HD AMOLED display with 401 ppi of pixel concentration.
In similarity, the two mobile comes with same processor, memory, battery life, which are octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 3300mAh non-removable battery, respectively. Both support the Dash Charge fast charging tech by the company.

When making a decision to buy a smartphone, camera quality comes to forefront.  The old telephoto lens has been replaced with a large aperture. OnePlus 5T got a primary sensor which is 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 with 1.12-micro pixels and an aperture of f/1.7. The secondary sensor is a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K that has replaced 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 sensor. Now the company is concentrating on the low-light conditions with the ‘Intelligent Pixel Technology’.
  • Software

There aren’t any major changes in the software technology this time. The OnePlus 5T is powered by Android Nougat which is same as before. However, the company has introduced face unlocking features that we missing in OnePlus 5. The company has recently announced that it will release Android 8.0 Oreo by the end of the December for OnePlus 5T users.
