Online cab aggregator Ola has been leading the way for online taxi services. This time, the company has extended its mobile wallet services for users to shop on other e-commerce platforms. So far, Ola Money could be used to pay for rides booked on the service. Now, Ola Money can be used to make transactions on other e-commerce platforms. They have already partnered with Oyo Rooms and is in talks with Lenskart and Saavn.
Ola Money will follow Ola Store and Ola Cafe where the company ventured into the grocery and food businesses. Announcing Ola Money for other e-commerce portals, the company said that it is one of the top 3 mobile wallets in the company with 20 million customers.
The company said that Ola Money is an easy way to pay online with benefits of discounts and cashbacks to users. Ola Money head Rushil Goel said that the company is in talks with other merchants and is hopeful of growing their presence on other portals.
Ola Money is in its initial stages and the company is working to ensure that it works on all platforms smoothly. To sustain in mobile wallet business, they will have to compete with Paytm, which already boasts of 100 million users.
