The Canon PowerShot S160 IS comes with a wide range of features that includes large number of shooting alternatives from full auto to complete manual, easy to press controllers, easily accessible AA batteries while on the contrary the Nikon Coolpix S6300 is light in weight pocket size camera that comes with 10x zoom with ultra wide angles, nice range of snapshots shooting alternatives.
Though the overall shooting performance of Nikon is goof but the autofocus is temporary and battery life is short as compared to the Canon. On the other hand, the shooting performance of Canon PowerShot SX160 Isis good but not very fast and the quality of picture falls off above ISO 400.
Thus, all in all while Canon is a good, affordable and camera with travel zoom option for those who have just stepped into photography, Nikon Coolpix S6300 is an above average camera with simple operations, decent features and affordable price. According to me, if you are Nikon fan, you cannot like Canon and if you are an ardent lover of Canon series, then Nikon is not the right camera for you. The red colour of both the models is dazzling and eye catching.
