The LG Nexus 4 has been one of the most impressive smartphones I’ve seen recently – and not just because of it’s low price tag! An executive at LG Electronics has confirmed that they won’t be making the successor to the phone, nicknamed the Google Nexus 5. The big question now is if we should wait for the Nexus 5 or buy the Nexus 4 now?
In the best of circumstances this isn’t an easy question to answer. Common sense dictates that the Nexus 5 will be released the same time as the previous model – October. So the wait isn’t really all that long. But then again, Google has said nothing about who will be making the new phone? Will it be as good as the LG made Nexus 4 which sold out in minutes after its release? Google and LG have been blaming each other about the slow production of the Nexus 4. It’s expected that the Nexus 5 will have better specifications. The big issue with the Nexus 4 though is its availability, since it’s not in production and demand is high third party retailers have been selling them at inflated prices.
Until we have a little more information from Google, it is difficult to decide whether to wait for the Nexus 5 or buy the Nexus 4 now. If you can, the wait till October for a Nexus 5 release could be worth a while. Of course, it could or could not happen. So if you need a phone and an upgrade would not matter, picking the LG Nexus 4 could be your answer.
