Huawei launched the Kirin 810 SoC powered Huawei MatePad in China on Thursday. Notably, the Huawei MatePad Pro model has already been released in November last year. The new MatePad has been launched in China at a starting price of ¥1899 (~ Rs. 20,488) targeting young students. However, Huawei is yet to announce an international launch date for its new tablet.

The new Huawei tablet will come in two colour variants including white and grey, and two storage configuration options. It would also offer two options with Wi-Fi support while a third version would offer support for both Wi-Fi and LTE.
The Wi-Fi-only MatePad variants will offer storage configuration of 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory and 6GB and 128 GB at ¥ 1,899 and ¥ 2,199 respectively. However, the LTE and Wi-Fi supporting MatePad will come with a storage configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory and is priced at ¥ 2,499. However, users can further expand the device storage up to 512 GB using microSD cards.
It runs on Android 10 based EMUI 10.1 and is powered by Kirin 810 SoC and a 7,250mAh battery. Moreover, it offers 10.4” IPS display with 2560×1600 pixels resolution and has thin bezels.
Moreover, Huawei MatePad offers support for M-Pencil stylus but won’t come with one. Furthermore, unlike its Pro version, it doesn’t offer 5G connectivity either. Additionally, both its front and rear cameras have single 8-megapixel sensors.

Huawei MatePad will go on sales in China on April 26 via Vmall.com. However, owing to the COVID-19 lockdowns, it cannot be ascertained when it will be available in India or any other country.
