How you caught the buzz about this new found love of the rumor mills? Google’s latest baby, the Nexus 5 is making waves– and in more ways than one. If the latest tips on the smart phone are to be believed, then we can look forward to a highly compact model and a smaller version than its predecessor, the Nexus 4.
Bucking the trend for a larger screen size in 2013, this smart phone is sticking to its standard 4.5-inch 720p display. According to inputs from Phone Arena, the IPS screen boasted by the Nexus 5 will take up about 88 percent of the anterior portion of the phone.
This would effectively mean a narrow bezel for the phone. Some of the best features to look forward to in this phone are it compactness, great camera and long battery life.
Earlier reports about the Nexus 5 had pointed to a 5.2-inch OLED screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, a 3300mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3 GHz and a 16-megapixel camera. However, the recent reports are pointing towards a 4.5-inch 720 p screen, 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, a 9-megapixel CCD camera and 2800mAh battery.
The Nexus 5 is expected to be codenamed “Megalodon” and will come packaged with a smart camera from Nikon. We can just wait and watch, as further inputs regarding its date of launch, price and how will it fair against Samsung galaxy S4 in the due course of time.
