Moto X Play vs. One Plus 2: What Suits The Pocket

The war is on between Moto X Play and OnePlus 2–the two preferred phones available for the mid budget buyer. Let’s do a quick comparison to see what side the features sway against the prices.

Design and Display

Lets look at the similarities first. Both phones have a 5.5-inch full HD display. However, the display of OnePlus 2 appears washed-out whereas the panel of the Moto X Play looks better.
At the same time, while the Moto X Play is better in terms of design, the Sandstone Black finish of the OnePlus 2 is more appealing. Both the devices are available with alternate back covers.

Weight

Weighing 169 gms, the Moto X Play  is lighter than the OnePlus 2 that weighs 175 gms. However, the Moto X Play is thicker and shorter than OnePlus 2.

Processor, Performance, Memory and Battery Life

While the Moto X Play runs on 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset, the OnePlus 2 is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset. With 4 GB RAM, OnePlus 2 may get a little bossy over 2 GB RAM of Moto X Play. Though, OnePlus 2 enjoys an upper hand due to better synthetic benchmarks, there is very little difference if you consider day-to-day performance, making competition tougher.
Some reviewers have noticed that the OnePlus 2 tends to gain heat if games are played for a long time. Moreover, many apps face compatibility issue with the phone. Moto X Play users have not reported these issues. Battery of both the phones lasts a day of medium to heavy usage.

Camera

Moto x Play boasts of a 21 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and auto-HRD, whereas the One Plus 2 comes with a 13 MP rear camera with OIS, dual LED-Flash as well as auto-focus.

Price Point

The price difference between both the phones is high. While the Moto X Play can be purchased for Rs. 18,499, the OnePlus 2 needs you to shell out Rs. 24,999.
With both the phones having a good fan following, it is difficult to say who is going to win the battle in the market. Based on our observations above, I would go with the Moto X Play though!
