With the Moto G handset set to release today across the globe, here’s the specs comparison viz-a-viz the newly released Google Nexus 5:
- DISPLAY: The Nexus 5 with a 5-inch screen and 1080p HD display is very good for viewing, whereas the Moto G offers 4.5-inch screen with 720p display. Nexus 5 wins over Moto G as far as display is concerned, but the latter still offers good HD viewing than many phones in similar price range.
- Performance: Moto G boasts of a robust and powerful quad-core Snapdragon microprocessor chip with 1.2GHz speed. Not that great, but decent experience for Moto G users. When it comes to Nexus 5, again, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2.3GHz speed, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 30 GPU makes it a far better device in terms of performance. One thing has to be noted though, Nexus 5 battery capacity won’t be as good as that in Moto G thanks to the powerful hardware in Nexus 5.
- Storage Capacity: Moto G handset will offer 8GB of internal flash storage capacity. It remains to be seen whether the storage can be expanded. Nexus 5 has been released in 16GB and 32GB variants, with no feature of expandable storage.
- Price: Moto G is being viewed as a budget device in US, UK and Indian markets, with its price being decent for a mid-range phone. Around Rs.16,000 may be the starting price of the handset. For users in the US, Google may plan to distribute the phones for free. The newly released Nexus 5 is set to release in India with a price of around Rs 28,000
Both the phones look savvy and feature-loaded. Nexus 5 undoubtedly is a powerhouse, but Moto G has great features to offer to users for the price it is being offered at.
