The “Moment 3” features have been made available via an optional update for Windows 11 users by Microsoft on 27th June 2023. These new features started to roll out during Microsoft’s Build developer conference in May 2023. All Windows 11 users running version 22H2 shall get them in July 2023 with the Patch Tuesday update.
Details
The “Moment 3” features used to be available as a “controlled feature rollout” until now. Windows 11 users needed to enable the new toggle option in Windows Update to “get the latest updates as soon as they’re available.” However, since 27th June 2023, the features are enabled by default in the optional KB5027303, build 22621.1928 update for version 22H2 Windows 11.
Compared to what had been received in the past, this release is pretty huge. Previously, many of these were either in A/B testing or turned off. On top of the typical bug fixes, there has been a round of improvements also.

Moment 3 features
This is the same update rolled out to Windows Insiders last week on the Release Preview channel. More than 21 new features have been integrated. A few top features are-
- New access keys in File Explorer
- New VPN status icon in the system tray
- Option to add seconds in the system tray clock
- Copy button for 2FA codes
- New Content Adaptive Brightness Control
- USB4 hub page
- Presence of sensor privacy settings
- New languages for Live Captions
- Alt-tab changes.
Other smaller features are:
- Notification badging on the Start menu for Microsoft accounts
- Improved sharing in File Explorer of a local file with the contacts in Microsoft Outlook
- Redesigned in-app voice access command help page
Improvements
These updates have addressed issues reported in the past month with Windows 11. A lot of improvements have been added in this release throughout the operating system including things like File Explorer, the on-screen keyboard, scheduling monthly tasks, etc.
Update for Windows 10
Microsoft released an optional non-security patch on 27th June 2023 for Windows 10 version 22H2 as well. Microsoft stated that the update “adds many new features and improvements to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.”
If you wish to install the update, check the “get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option on the settings page for Windows Update. Go back and check for updates. Windows would find and download the update and give you a prompt to restart the computer or laptop when ready.
