MicrosoftlogoThe surface mini tablet from Microsoft has missed its due date. The tablet was to be released on May 20th but as the company was still working on the tablet, it decided to skip the due release date.

This however, does not mean that Microsoft has shelved the plan to release the tablet altogether. Microsoft might club the release of surface mini with the torch enabled version of Office which is all set to debut later this year.

Microsoft has taken around 20,000 units from the production unit. These are now likely to hit the market along with torch enabled version of Office.

This delay on part of Microsoft to shelve the launch of surface mini was compensated to a large extent by high end surface tablet which was launched on this day. This delay on part of Microsoft to launch the mini version was a blessing in disguise as the company was able to focus on Surface Pro 3. The Surface Pro 3 is distinct in the sense that it has a 12 inch screen and comes in five distinct configurations.

With 8GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, Surface Pro 3 is unique indeed. Meanwhile, those wanting to own a surface mini tablet will have to wait a while as the company plans to wait a while before launching the same.
