Some interesting details have leaked online regarding the partial specifications and features for five different configurations of the rumored Microsoft Surface 3, along with their respective price tags.
Microsoft is scheduled to conduct an event on May 20 2014 where it is most likely to launch a Surface Mini tablet. However, it has been recently rumored that the company will reveal a new-generation Surface Pro tablet as well.
The third-generation Microsoft Surface Pro tablet is likely to be equipped with a larger screen size, possibly 12-inch, along with sporting slimmer bezels and placing the Windows button on the vertical side rather than the horizontal one. WPCentral has reported that the company will unleash at least five Surface Pro 3 configurations.
The cheapest and most basic Surface Pro 3 model will be having an Intel Core i3 chip, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage capacity at a price of USD799.
The next version will be equipped with an Intel core i5 chip, 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity carrying a price tag of USD999.
The next variant will boast the same Intel Core i5 chip, 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage capacity available at a price of USD1,299.
A higher-end version will sport an Intel Core i7 chip, 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage capacity, priced at USD1,549.
Lastly, the top model will be having an Intel Core i7 chip, 8GB RAM and 512GB internal storage capacity and will cost a much higher USD1,949.
Microsoft entered into the tablet market back in 2012 with the launch of its own-brand slates – the Surface RT and the Surface Pro. However, the tablets were not successful in the market, especially the RT model, but the company again launched a second generation in 2013 with its new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. The company is now planning to enhance its tablet market presence with the launch of a new Surface Mini and Surface Pro 3.
