A Microsoft mobile subsidiary, Nokia India Sales Pvt. Ltd. finally launched the Lumia 540-Dual SIM on Wednesday. This variant had been long awaited and is also the sixth Lumia phone to be released in the Indian market in the past half year or so, according to T.S. Sridhar, the Director of the southern zone of Nokia India.
At the event for briefing, Sridhar also commented that the Lumia handsets accounted for massive business across retail segments in India. Currently Nokia India has 8,872 stores and 119 service centers in the country.
This does not take into account the 441 Microsoft Priority Re-sellers that had formerly been Nokia official outlets. The exclusive bit about these stores is the ‘Touch and Feel’ on offer for customers. South India stores.
The Director also added, “We have always seen Hyderabad as a retail experience provider and that is why 13 of these priority stores are located in Hyderabad and 16 more across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.” He added how smartphones between the Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 12,000 price range sold the highest. The latest Lumia 540 has been launched in New Delhi first before its Chennai release. The Lumia 540 comes loaded with Windows 8.1 for about Rs. 10,199.
