Micromax Canvas 2 A110 vs. Karbonn A21 vs. iBall Andi 4.5h: Affordable Phablets Battle it out

The Indian smartphone consumer sure is spoilt for choice, and we’re especially talking about the ones who are extremely price conscious. So what if you’ve been lusting after the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 but can’t shell out over 30k for the device? Many companies have jumped on the phablet bandwagon and brought out their own version of the 5-inch phablets. Today we’re looking at 3 of the better ones in the market to see which of them are worth picking up. In terms of tech specs, all these devices are equally matched. All of them are dual-SIM devices, which let you put in 2 GSM SIMs and run on Android 4.0 or ICS. All these phones come with 4 GB internal memory and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. However, each of them has their own strengths which we’ve highlighted below:

Micromax Canvas 2Micromax Canvas 2: The Canvas 2 is literally selling like hotcakes, what with it almost constantly being out of stock on popular online shopping portals. With its 5-inch screen, this one definitely stands out over the Karbonn A21 and iBall Andi 4.5h, both of them which have only a 4.5-inch display. In terms of battery too, this one’s much better with a 2000 mAh battery giving it a long life. On the other hand, Karbonn A21 comes with an 1800 mAh battery, while the iBall Andi 4.5h has only a 1600 mAh battery. The Canvas 2 comes with an 8 MP rear camera like the iBall Andi 4.5h, while the Karbonn 21 has just a 5 MP camera. The Canvas comes with a price-tag of Rs 9799.

Karbonn A21: Even though it has only an 1800 mAh battery, it has the longest battery Karbonn A21standby time in comparison with its competition of 200 hours. The A21 has the most powerful processor, being powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, while the Canvas 2 and Andi 4.5h have a dual-core 1 GHz processor. Also, it’s got the best front-facing camera with a 1.3 MP resolution, while the other 2 have VGA front-facing cameras. The Karbonn A21 will set you back by Rs. 9390 – the most affordable among these three.

iBall Andi 4.5hiBall Andi 4.5h: This phone has the most RAM of 1GB, while the other 2 devices have just 512 MB of RAM, making multi-tasking much easier on the Andi 4.5h. Even in terms of screen resolution, we have to give more marks to the Andi 4.5h, with its 960X540 pixel display. The Canvas 2 has a resolution of 480 X 854 pixels, while the Karbonn A21 has a screen resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. We also feel its price-tag of Rs. 12059 is a little steeper than that of its competition.
