Apple has launched the Mac Mini, which packs the Apple experience on a desktop for budget buyers. Interestingly, the specifications of this new offering are at par with the Retina MacBook Pro. Lets see how they compare against each other.
Good choice for budget buyers
Updated in 2014, Mac mini range of Apple is available in three configurations and supports some of the high-end features that every user might be looking for. The budget model priced at £549, Mac mini comes with Intel Iris Graphics, 1TB hard drive, 8GB memory and 2.6GHz processor. While the other Mac mini model, which is priced at £799 offers smooth performance with 2.8GHz processor, 1TB Fusion Drive, 8GB memory along with Intel Iris Graphics. This model is almost in par with the MacBook Pro model that is priced at £999 and comes with 2.7GHz processor, 128GB SSD, 8GB memory along with Intel Iris Graphics 6100.
Priced at £1,199, this MacBook Pro also has quite similar features. The device comes with 2.7GHz processor, 256GB SSD, 8GB memory as well as Intel Iris Graphics 6100.
The deaerest model in comparison is priced £1,399 and boasts of a better 2.9GHz processor, 512GB SSD, 8GB memory along with Intel Iris Graphics 6100. Though Mac mini has some shortcomings compared to MacBook Pro, Mac mini can be a good choice for people interested to get hassle free performance at a budget price.
