Needless to say, the two devices would be competing with each other on different grounds. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is made of premium plastic and is thin to hold. This clearly indicates that Samsung wants to target the high-end buyers but its efforts do not look convincing enough. Though the Note 10.1 does not have a bad design per se but when compared with the iPad Air’s design, it clearly loses its sheen. The iPad Air from Apple flaunts a stunning aluminum build which lends a classic feeling to the device.

The iPad Air looks compared in comparison to the Galaxy note 10.1 2014 Edition. The iPad Air does not weigh more than 478 grams, the Note 10.1 weighs 547 grams. Thus, the difference in the weight is clearly evident. From a technical point of view, the iPad Air offers greater comfort in usage. The iPad Air also offers optimized button interaction. The physical volume adjustment and power keys are well placed. However, the Note 10.1 easily scores ahead of the iPad Air in one striking aspect. And that is the  microSD card slot. This comes handy for all those users who would like to expand storage of their new tablet. Both devices have SIM card slots. While the iPad Air features a slot for Nano SIM card, the Note 10.1 supports a Micro SIM card slot.
