PlayStation was the first to inform the public of the impending release of the PlayStation 4 – it will be released in North America first, on the 15th of November followed by the Europe release which is slated for the 29th of November. Microsoft has made the bold decision to release the Xbox One right in the middle of this with a 22nd November release date for North America and the UK amongst 13 other territories.

In a move from the normal practice so far, neither companies have given a date for a Japanese release of the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 – this in the face of the fact that consoles have traditionally premiered in the island nation before the rest of the world.

The PlayStation 4 will retail for 399$ and the Xbox One will be sold for 499$ but the Xbox One is shipped with the Kinect motion control system while the PlayStation 4’s Move system has to be bought separately.
