And the tech giant also had no new iPod. This is only the second time that Apple has gone past a September launch without releasing a new iPod or at least an update.

Since iPod sales have recently become a smaller and smaller part of Apple’s revenue, this should not be so surprising. The iPod is certainly no longer a major part of Apple’s future plans. The MacBook Pro certainly is though and that is why it might actually be a good this that we haven’t seen a new MacBook Pro running a Haswell processor as of yet.

The MacBook Air was one of the first laptops to adapt to the new Haswell processor but that was done by basically retrofitting the previous MacBook Air with the Haswell processor. The fact that Apple is waiting for sometime before revealing a Haswell running MacBook Pro might actually be a sign that Apple is going all out and that the upcoming MacBook Pro might do to desktop replacement laptops what the iPhone 5s has just done to mobile phones, taken it to the next level.
