Google released the Android 5.0.2 update for Nexus 7 edition of 2012 last year. It was but natural for users to expect Android 5.0.2 updates for Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10 but the firmware is still not in sight. This update has still not been made available for Nexus 6 and 9.

It has recently surfaced that the Android 5.0.2 update might not arrive at all. This update could end up in exclusivity for the 2012 version of Nexus 7.

Google has not come up with any official version on this matter but if this news is true, there is a possibility that Nexus 6 and 9 could come up in version 5.0.3.

One must remember that Android Nexus update did not happen for the 2012 Nexus 7. It simply went on to Android 5.0.2 from Android 5.0. One knows that Android Lollipop is by far the biggest update in Google’s mobile operating system.

The material design interface that is dependent on 3D effect and shadows has also become more intuitive in recent days.

Despite the fact that Samsung Galaxy S5 handset received a lukewarm response from customers, it has managed to score over its arch rival Apple under the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

Fox News has reported that Samsung, which was under undue pressure owing to its declining profits, could now heave a sigh of relief as it has received a satisfaction rating of 81 points out of 100. This is 2 points more than what Apple scored in the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

Samsung has scored over Apple at a time when Apple had just celebrated the successful launch of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Over 10 million units of these smartphone have been sold over the weekend. However, with Customer Satisfaction Index tilting in favour of Samsung, engineers and analysts at Apple will have to do some soul searching on the reasons behind Apple’s performance in the popularity index.

Mobile payments have been around for a long time now. However, they don’t seem to have gained sufficient traction. In such a scenario, it’s a pertinent to question if Apple Pay would be any different.

For those who have used the Apple Pay, they do seem to think so. It’s an easy interface that is the biggest advantage of Apple Pay. One simple has to tap a button and the system is all set to roll. Additionally, one can to add as many debit and credit cards to the passbook to be used further at checkout.

However, once you reach the setup stage, that is when the real confusion sets in. If in US, Google Wallet will take care of this aspect but in other countries as UK, you could be in a bit of trouble as various networks in UK have partnered with credit card companies to work things out.

US-based tech giant Google has recently announced the launch of three low cost Android One smartphones in India. This is in partnership with India-based companies such as Spice, Micromax and Karbonn.

With this, Google will be launching three different devices. This move by Google is primarily aimed at increasing its market share in key emerging markets by providing buyers with cheaper phones that come with quality software.

One such product is the Canvas A1 by Micromax that has been termed as a ‘unique device’ because of its interesting design as well as advanced features and specifications.

The Micromax Canvas A1 is equipped with a 4.5-inch LCD display. It has a pixel resolution of 854×480 and sports a microphone along with a wide range of sensors. It also has a removable back panel, 1,700mAh battery and 2MP front facing camera. It also comes with dual-SIM slots and a place for microSD card.

However, the build quality of the smartphone is not very great, and it is inferior to several other devices available in the market including the Asus ZenFone 4 or the Xiaomi Redmi 1S.

The screen colors of this smartphone are natural, but its black levels are not up to the mark. Also, the screen is not very bright and causes issues while seeing under direct sunlight. At this price range, several other better smartphones are available in the market like the Moto E and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Both phones are equipped with denser, brighter, and clearer screens.

The Micromax Canvas A1 sports a 5 MP rear camera which has an average shoot quality. The camera cannot shoot photos out-of-the-box. You need to insert a memory card before clicking any image with the device.

The Micromax Canvas A1 is powered by stock Android similar to that of Google’s Nexus smartphones. Stock Android also dubbed as Unmodified Android is the biggest asset of the smartphone.

Google has promised to issue updates for two years, meaning that upgradation to Android L is possible in the later part of 2014. Also, it runs on the quad-core MediaTek MT 6582 chipset along with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.
