What to expect from Netflix in India?

Viewers can now access the huge repertoire of domestic and international video contents courtesy Netflix that has arrived in India. The video content that is streamed by Netflix can be viewed on smartphones, laptops, tablets and television screens, a feature that keeps Netflix ahead of other similar companies operating in India. It can also be viewed on larger screens by using Apple TV and Playstation. Netflix exclusively produces a lot of globally popular contents, too.

Netflix in IndiaUncensored content

Considerable amount of uncensored content will be available but all contents streamed by Netflix are rated for the category of viewers that debar children from viewing adult contents. Although plenty of contents have been left out from the catalogue, the collection of new titles is laudable. Indian viewers would be happy to access contents that had remained out of bounds for them, till now.

Bollywood Films

Besides international titles, classic Bollywood films from Hum Aapke Hai Kaun to Piku find a place in the catalog and the process of enhancing the list is already on. Netflix provides a huge platform for independent cinema in India that can now overcome the problem of not finding enough screens to reach to viewers.

Smooth streaming and seamless viewing are assured.

Is 3D Printing An Opportunity Or A Threat?

3d_Printing pros and consScientists and engineers are excited about 3D printing. It’s a breakthrough in the sense that it could be used to create costly things at a low cost, thus lowering the cost of manufacturing. The benefits should flow down to the end user because medical expenses or technical gadgets could become more affordable. However, live anything new, there are two sides to this too.

To begin with, 3D printing was being used by some engineers and technical experts since the 1980s. However, it has received hype only recently. The availability of 3D printers at cost-effective prices has allowed people to explore the benefits of this technology. Even US President Barack Obama spoke about it in one of his speeches. He said, “(3D printing) …has the potential to revolutionize the way we make almost anything.”

Reducing the complexity of medical science

With more viable and cost-effective 3D printing solutions coming to the market, it is expected that the benefits of this technology will spread to almost every field in the near future. Medical science and healthcare are expected to benefit significantly from this technology. Reports suggest that researchers are now  busy exploring the possibility of replacing complex human organs with 3D printed objects.

Some researchers at Princeton University have even printed a replica of the outer ear using silver nano particles, human cells and hydrogel. Therefore, it will not be wrong to expect that the new technology will bring some breakthrough changes in the medical stream.

Also known as additive manufacturing, 3D printing can also make a great difference to the lives of automotive engineers and industrial developers. They will be able to visualize the model or prototype of the product they manufacture, resulting in greater accuracy.

Creative professionals are worried sick

Those who are working in the creative fields are worried about what 3D printing would do to their business. It is already being expected that the retail and sports sectors could also enjoy some significant changes if 3D printing becomes a more viable option in the coming times.

However, designers are worried that this technology could sound the death knell for creativity. Kayne West spoke about it on the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians,  “This is what I’m afraid of–because the Internet destroyed the music industry and now, this is what we’re afraid of right now with the textile industry.” He added, “There will come a time when people are making their shoes at home.”

Tell us what you think about this technology. Would it cause more harm than good? Would it be good to have a check on 3D printing practices?

Moto G (3rd Gen) In-Depth Review: Big On Performance, Smart On The Outside

Motorola has promised big with the latest 3rd Gen Moto G. While the G series has been on the block since the last two years, this model is better, faster and sassier. Wonder why? Check out our in-depth review.Motorola Launched Moto Xpress to Offer Doorstep Repair Service

Beginning The Dissection

For starters, we love the spick and span look—not premium wood back or hard core metal—but a snazzy plastic in black or white. With the updated version of the Android5.1.1 thrown in, the beginnings are sweet. The latest Moto G comes in two variants—an 8 GB storage version with 1 GB RAM at $180 and a 16 GB storage version with 2 GB RAM at $220.

While this pleases the pockets, you could be further pleased with the 5-incher beauty zinged up with 720p display clubbed with 1,280×720 pixel resolution. Oh yes, the Moto G 3rd Gen is also lightweight and sleek with 142.1 by 72.4 by 11.6 mm dimension. While the 5 incher size is not bulky, the crispness comes from the presence of front edge-to-edge Gorilla Glass. Motorola has innovated out of the blue with presence of a swappable shell.

Water Resistance To Floor Us

Finally, we have a phone that can be carried in the washroom and even as you sink in a tub. With IPX7 water resistance, the Moto G 3rd Gen is good to go under water unless you go swimming with it! On the insides, we cannot help but praise the sharp interface that comes with context sensitive assistance and lock-screen on single-touch notification. Motion-based options remind us of the note series from Samsung though.

Click Away To Glory

The hero of Moto G 3rd Gen is its 13 MP main clicker—touted as the best in the world by the maker. With Dual LED CCT flash, it comes with 1080p video recording, 30fps too. For selfie snapping, the 5 MP clicker on the front does not disappoint either. The intuitive factor on the camera app is average but it is jet fast!

Top Notch Performance

With 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1 or 2 GB RAM, expect beefy doings on the handset. For 1 GB RAM, you get 8 GB storage onboard while it goes up manifold when you buy the 2 GB version. The 2,470 mAh non-removable battery is an improvement over the 2390 mAh we saw on the 2nd Gen Moto G earlier. Videos, games and browsing—combining all the three at once too makes your Moto G 3rd Gen last fairly long.

A Final Word

In addition, expect clear sound, ample noise cancellation and hardly any call drop on the handset that is 4G LTE-ready with Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n onboard. There’s no turbo-charge feature for the charger, but then, with so much already in hand, do we need any more from the Moto G 3rd Gen?

Apple’s Home Button saga- To Stay Or Not To Stay?

Rumors that Apple will give its much-loved home button a miss on its upcoming iPhone, makes us list the top reasons why it has GOT to stay on the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 7 as well.

Apple’s Home Button saga- To Stay Or Not To Stay? Will iPhone Turn The Android Way?

The iPhone can be made more Android-ish but sans missing out on the physical button. The increase in screen size that comes about due to skipping a tangible input can barely compensate much since iPhones are not our usual Android wares such as the LG G series or the latest Motorola Moto series.

Apple could stick to the home button after all, much like Samsung did. It can only add extra functionality while allowing quick access to camera, search and other apps depending on the intensity of pressing on the button. Apple, are ‘ya listening?

Understanding The Toggle Switch

For those who own an iPhone and have not experienced Android experience, you must try and understand how a switch-toggle function works. Try operating a standard on-off switch on a Play Station 3 or 4. If Apple adopts something similar from Google, we are game but haptic feedback buttons are big turnoffs.Read the rest

The maker promises 10 hours and 46 minutes standby time even with video viewing, thanks to a powerful Snapdragon 410 SoC processor and 2570 mAh battery.

Camera

The main shutter comes for 13 MP with HDR and autofocus support. While we are not too happy with low light pics clicked with the Moto G 3rd Gen main camera, the selfie cam of 5MP is satisfactory.
