Good news for Samsung Galaxy S3 users, the tech giant has fixed battery depletion issues and force close errors in the device. With the roll out of Android 4.3 JellyBean OS round the corner, the solution is not far away.
Unlocked Galaxy S3 in the United Kingdom got the Jelly Bean update with XXUGMJ9 firmware version. There is support for Galaxy GEAR, TRIM, ANT+ and important UI elements updates which are already there in Galaxy S4. Some more features are the all new Samsung keyboard, GPU drivers that are updated, new lockscreen with latest widgets and clock size customization, Professional modes in photo clicking, move-to-sd-card feature, new modes in camera app, latest Samsung apps of clock, calculator, contacts, gallery, revamped setting interface, music and new S-voice from Galaxy S4.
There were many complaints regarding a host of issues when the device was update to the newest Jelly Bean OS. Fast depletion in the battery capacity, handset not getting unlocked easily and unresponsiveness of the handset were common issues encountered by users. There were errors noticed while connecting to Wi-Fi network too.
Via over-the-air update, this update from Samsung will be available for S3 owners. It must be noted that a WiFi connection is recommended to download the update. You can also use the Samsung KIES software to see whether there are new updates; you can do so by connecting the device to the computer and launching the application. Go to About Device > software update > and then check if there are any updates.
The newly released Android 4.4 KitKat OS is being tested for Samsung phones and will be released soon. There has been no confirmation from Samsung though. Maybe Galaxy S3, S4 and Note II device owners will try their hands on Android 4.4 KitKat OS next year. Galaxy S5 is expected to debut next year and if some reports are to be believed, will be the first device receiving Android 4.4 update.
