A Brief Summary of IFA 2014 Day Two: Microsoft Lumia, Huawei Ascend Mate7

While day 1 of Europe’s biggest electronics show IFA witnessed some of the biggest and most awaited launches and updates, day 2 was not worth a big mention. IFA 2014 day two saw the launch of new hardware from Microsoft and Huawei.

Microsoft Lumia Launches

microsoft lumiaMicrosoft showcased its three new Lumia smartphones as well as an attractive wireless charger. There have been a lot of reports in the media regarding the features and specifications of the phone, but let’s take a look at its design.

The Lumia 830 is a mid range smartphone having a screen size of 5 inches and a pixel density of 720p. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 along with 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity. The smartphone also sports a 10 megapixel rear camera along with optical image stablization and an LED flash. The smartphone offers 16GB of internal storage space, while it also has a removable rear cover that has a removable battery and a MicroSD card slot inside it.

The other two launches were Lumia 730 and 735 that are a successor to the Nokia Lumia 720, and the phones are in the mid-range category of the company’s Windows Phone 8 handsets. The Lumia 735 is equipped with 4G LTE, while the 730 features dual-SIM 3G capabilities.

The Lumia 730 has a 4.7-inch HD ClearBlack display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon chip and 1GB of memory. The smartphone also sport a 5MP camera and an 8GB of storage with microSD support. Meanwhile, Lumia 735 sports a 4.7-inch screen and a pixel resolution of 720p. The smartphone has 6.7 megapixels rear camera and a 5 megapixels front camera.

Huawei Ascend Mate7

On the other hand, Huawei launched its Ascend Mate7, which has a screen size of 6 inches with a pixel resolution of 1080p. It features an octa-core processor and a fingerprint scanner. The smartphone has a 13 megapixels rear camera and a 5 megapixels front camera. In terms of connectivity, it offers 4G LTE networks, while its battery power stands at a massive 4100mAh. The company has also confirmed the launch of the Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition in the later part of 2014.
