Samsung Galaxy S4 Vs Sony Xperia Z: Here Comes The Most Unexpected Battle

With just a day to go until the Samsung Galaxy S4 officially launches and possibly upsets the Sony Xperia Z’s success so far, we decided to do a final comparison between these two phones based on all the rumors we’ve heard yet. But don’t change your mind just yet – if you’re still confused between which of these to pick, you’ve just got to wait a little longer to find out if the Galaxy S4 packs a punch strong enough to knock the socks off the Xperia Z.

Samsung Galaxy S4: Samsung gave us a peek-a-boo into the Galaxy S4 by tweeting a dark picture of the Galaxy S4. From what we see, it looks a lot like the Galaxy S3, with a similar bezel and rounded edges. And looks like it will have an all-plastic body as well. According to rumors, the Galaxy S4 could have a 5-inch or a 4.99-inch full HD 1080p screen, but its exact ppi count is not known yet. But yes, we’ve heard that it could support eye tracking and floating touch, which does make the phone sound quite fancy. We’re also hoping to see at least a 13 MP camera on the Galaxy S4, which would be similar in resolution to the Xperia Z’s. The Galaxy S4 could be powered either by an octo-core Samsung Exynos 5 processor or a quad-core 1.9 GHz Snapdragon processor and 2 GB of RAM. It could be available with 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage and the battery could be at least 2,600 mAh.

Sony Xperia Z: Apart from the fact that it is dust and water resistant, making it one of the sturdiest smartphones in the market, there’s many more reasons why the Xperia Z has managed to catch this much attention. Its 5-inch full HD screen has a resolution of 440 ppi and is powered by Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and 2 GB of RAM. A 13.1 MP rear camera with Sony’s Exmos RS sensor makes it a treat for the shutterbugs, while the front-facing camera has a resolution of 2.2 MP. It comes with 16 GB of internal storage space which can be expanded using a microSD card, and the battery in the Xperia Z is 2,330 mAh.
