Nokia Launches New Asha 205 and 206 Phones at Unknown Price

Handsets maker Nokia today launched two more Asha phones in Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya and India–Asha 205 and Asha 206. These are dual-SIM phones that come with features such as a voice-guided self portrait and Slam. The Slam features allows users to share their pictures and videos with other mobile phones via Bluetooth without having to pair them. It has been exactly a year since Nokia launched the Asha series. Both handsets will be available in India from next month and they are expected to cost USD 62.

“Asha is a huge category for us and in Q3, about 6.5 million Asha touch devices were sold, which speaks volumes about the popularity of the device,” Nokia India director (mobile phones) Sari Harju said at the launch.

He added that these phones are aimed at giving users a better and smarter Internet experience at reasonable costs. The Finnish maker has launched 10 devices under the Asha series that come within a price bracket of Rs 4,000 to Rs 9,000.

The two handsets will be available in India in the next month. Though the pricing has not been announced, but the handsets are expected to be priced at about USD 62 globally.
