US-based tech giant Apple is most likely scheduled to release its next line of MacBook Pros in the third quarter of 2014. There have been rumors that the company will introduce a major redesign in the product, the first since 2012.
It is expected that the 2014 MacBook Pro line-up will be equipped with Intel’s fifth generation Core i processors, codenamed Broadwell. This is likely to give 30% more efficiency than the existing generation of Intel chips, known as Haswell, while also giving faster performance.
However, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said that the next-generation Broadwell processors are most expected to be in the market during the Christmas shopping period, signifying that the company is anticipated to resort to slightly-faster Haswell chips in its MacBook Pros and use the Broadwell chips in future models.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has said that the company is presently working on a brand new MacBook Pro having a 12in screen. The MacBook Pro line-up are already equipped with Retina displays, so the company will concentrate towards manufacturing laptops in the range in different sizes.
Apple recently won patent for a “touchpad that utilises force sensors and acuator feedback.” The design makes use of several sensors and an actuator to emulate the function and tactile feedback of the current trackpad which are installed in the company’s current MacBooks.
Since the past several years, Apple has started the trend of annual launch patterns for its most important products. The company commercially released its latest MacBook Pros during October in both 2013 and 2012. There is a great possibility that the company will continue the trend and will launch its next MacBook Pro during October 2014.
