Asus clearly knows how to break the mold and create a completely breathtaking piece of machine. The Asus ZenBook UX305LA is proof of that. Clearly, we are in awe of the new offering made by the Taiwanese giant. Here’s why.
Firstly, it is a good-looking laptop available in three colours–black, white and a stunning gold. It is also available with different variations in color so buyers can choose from Core M, Core i5, and a Core i7-5500U. Apart from this, the laptop has many other features.
The new Asus ultrabook is slim and has been tastefully designed with gleaming corners and clean sides. Apple Macbook Air has a clear completion in this one from Asus.
It is feather light and we mean it. Weighing 1.3 kg, UX305LA feels like you are a carrying an elegant and a dainty book in your hands.
It offers crisp picture quality, thanks to a 3200×1800 pixel LED-backlit display. The colors don’t irritate the eyes and the best bit is you can work on this machine for hours without getting tired.
We expected a battery life of upto 15 hours, but the laptop lasts for only 10 hours. This is where Asus could have done some improvements.
It comes loaded with two USB ports and features a HD webcam. The laptop also has a SDXC card reader a microphone-in jack, a headphone-out jac.
The laptop will go on sale in India from 15 October. ZenBook UX305LA runs on Windows 10 and is being billed at Rs 97,990. This might be a hefty price to pay but most of the features are worth that hole in the pocket.
If you have been scouting for a laptop which comes loaded with the latest Windows and host of brilliant features, here is your pick. … Read the rest

Doctors are implying that the main reason behind neck and lower back pain suffered by youngsters and professionals these days is the use of laptop for long hours on a regular basis.
Dr. H.S. Chhabra of Indian Spinal Injuries Center said, “Unlike desktops, the laptops have both the keyboard and the monitor attached to each other. You have to slouch to use it while sitting on bed. Many people keep it on the lap but even that causes lower back pain.”
He also said that about 15% of the total patients visiting their center in a month are students or young professionals suffering from chronic neck or lower back pain due to poor posture.
A survey conducted by Dr. Shankar Acharya, co-chairman of spinal surgery department at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital revealed that pain in the neck and lumbar region was common among people in North Delhi who were preparing for civil services.
He said, “These days most of the study materials are available online. These students spend hours together reading from laptops, which causes the musculoskeletal problems. Many of them take painkillers but don’t seek professional advice. Only those with crippling pain approach us.”
A recent survey carried in Finland and Britain showed that about 20% to 40% of youth are suffering from neck or back pain due to poor posture. Another study revealed that females are more affected than males. However, due to lack of survey, nobody knows the numbers of people suffering from musculoskeletal problems in India but the surely it would be extremely high.
To deal with this problem, doctors are suggesting the use of laptops with detachable keyboards so that the same is placed conveniently to ease posture.… Read the rest
